This person suffered from lack of oral hygiene habits and drinking lots of soft drinks.  The gumline decay is commonly due to the sugar of such drinks resting along the gumline of the teeth.  Fortunately, none of the decay went deep enough to nerve of tooth which would have required root canal therapy.  Please remember everyone’s mouth is unique and each treatment is catered to conditions of the mouth.  Therefore, the same treatment may not work for someone else whose condition is worse given underlying medical conditions..
